The Fun Crusade. Mar Del Plata

Got a flat tire on our way to Mar Del Plata. We pulled over, and searched the car for a spare, in the boot, under the passenger seat and under the car.

Luckily Ugs remembered who to call for help like this, so we gave them a call. They needed someone who could speak spanish though, so we flagged down these street kids. Watching them like an eagle (so they couldn't run off with the phone), they sorted stuff out for us.

We ended up waiting for ages.

These are the two street or flag kids that helped us. There's lots of them hanging out on streets with flags and they kinda stand there and wave when there is a parking spot. But right next to the spot itself, so I'm not sure why they were born.

Eventually the dude turned up. With much angst, we explained the situation. He smiled popped the bonnet and there was the spare.

Mar Del Plata is a big city built around a beach. Argentinians flock to this place during the summer, and apparently the beach is one of the most crowded in the world.








There is a massive soccer game on Saturday night too, between the BOCA JUNIORS and RIVERPLATE. These are the two biggest teams in football crazy Argentina, and long time rivals. It´s suppose to be a friendly game, but apparently tensions between the teams means it'll be anything but. We drove to the stadium to find tickets but it's 50,000 capacity was sold out. We ended up finding this crazy local guy who was scalping tickets. We bought seven from him, for about $10 each.

I wanted to take a photo of him, so I asked him to pose for me.



I'm excited about the soccer game. Apparently every single match here is like the NRL grand finals, but times 100.

In Argentina, there is a famous brand of chocolate called Alphajora. Which is pronounced "Alpha w-h-o-r-e"... Clearly this is asking for trouble..
